Chalazion Incision and Curettage (I&C)
Chalazion Incision and Curettage (I&C) is a minor surgical procedure performed to remove a chalazion, a painless lump caused by a blocked meibomian gland in the eyelid. At Desai Eye institute, this procedure provides effective relief from persistent or large chalazia that do not resolve with medication or warm compresses.
During the procedure, a local anesthetic is applied to numb the eyelid. A small incision is made on the inner side of the eyelid to access the chalazion, followed by curettage (scraping) to remove its contents. The incision is left open to heal naturally, and patients are advised on post-procedure care to prevent recurrence.
Chalazion I&C is a quick, safe, and effective procedure with minimal discomfort and recovery time. At Desai Eye institute, our experienced specialists ensure precise treatment, restoring eyelid health and comfort.
